This is a unique complementary educational event for both new and seasoned board members with time designated for your individual questions as well as a chance to mingle with board members from other great communities. The upcoming Evening with the Board is sure to be a learning experience for all who attend! The Spring 2013 Evening with the Board topic will be:

Have Courage! Timidity’s Cost to Community Associations in Governing Documents Enforcement

Not all community rules need to be enforced always. But some violations must be enforced, and there are costs, obvious and hidden, to associations who dither. Learn more, and learn to take courage in governing your community association! Using three associations’ tough problems: nonconforming common area alterations, rental cap violations, and hoarding, we’ll discuss:

What enforcement tools should be in all governing documents;
The value of saying “no” to owners’ requests for waivers of the covenants;
How to be courageous (and efficient!) in litigation.
